Our Fall/Winter 2021 programs

We aim to provide the youth the opportunities to learn, grow and commune. from our wellness programs, skill building and social Activities. The goal is putting the youth development first!

Soca-cize with Bree

Socacize is a mix of Socacize fitness and a creative blend of authentic Caribbean and African dance techniques, in harmony with effective fitness moves, resulting in a unique, non judgmental and exhilarating dance fitness program. Geared for youth of all ages, sessions will be taking place both in-person and via zoom

Art Drop-In

Ages 7-17 are welcome to come to our weekly book club meetings. We will be dividing up the groups based on age. The first week we will pick a book and over the course of the next month, we will have weekly book club meetings to discuss our likes and dislikes of the book. Each participant will have a chance to pick a book each month.

Yoga

Join us as we flow mindfully through a creative sequence of Hatha and Vinyasa postures with a strong focus on alignment, breath, inner intention and having fun. This class is suitable for all levels, no previous yoga experience is required. Variations will be offered for those newer to yoga and the more seasoned yogi.

Mom & Tots Yoga

Parent & Tot Yoga is a great way to regain strength and flexibility in a relaxed environment, while bonding with your new baby and other new parents. T No yoga or fitness experience is required, all levels are welcome. This class is recommended for babies 0-18 months, siblings are always welcome to stay.

Nature Club

This program will teach young girls the importance of consent, knowing your safety plan, respect for oneself and others, physical defence techniques, and offer the resources and support if they were to find themselves in a traumatic or abusive situation. Appropriate for ages 7-17. All skill levels welcome.

Poetry Club

Our poetry slam program is a safe space for youth or adults to come together and share their poetry, or read their favourite poem.

Youth Hangout

The Youth hangout provides a great safe space for the youth to come and interact with other youth, this provides them with a space to socialize, learn and grow as an individual. With the help of our partners it provides the youth with the free counselling and mentoring when needed.

SW Dance Program

Our Dance programs are designed for people of all ages, this fall we are running a programs that covers the fundamentals of hiphop.

Art for the Soul

The Art Therapy Program will run for eight weeks where participants will learn the fundamentals of Art Therapy and learn how to use various techniques to work through their feelings including emotional life drawing, creating a "words to live by" collage, sculpting, and much more!

Chess Drop-in

A Chance to learn, compete and challenge yourself on the game of chess! Learning these skills at a young age is incredibly important for and development of a young person.

Girls Self Defence
